Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's):
I don't think my child is developing correctly - where do I go?
Call your doctor or your county's health department and tell them your concern. In order for your child to receive services and assistance through the County or Health Department they need to be evaluated.
Newborns to 3-year-old children are referred through their County Health Departments' Early Intervention Programs
Children ages 3-5 years old are referred through their School District's Committee for Preschool Special Education (CPSC)
Children ages 5 years and older are referred through their School District's Committe for Special Education (CSE)
Once an evaluation is done, if they qualify the county or school district will inform you of the options and providers available for your child. A plan will be made to meet your child's special needs. This may be a difficult and overwhelming time for you. There are many options for you and your loved one. If you would like a sense of what the process will be, give us a call at 607.272.5891 or email us at info@rackercenters.org
