Residential Program
The Centers owns and operates nineteen houses for people with a wide range of abilities and needs. The goal of Residential Services is to provide people with developmental disabilities a place to call home where they can thrive. Residential Services also makes being a good neighbor a priority. Residences in Tompkins, Cortland and Tioga Counties provide care and support in a homelike setting with direct-care staff on premises to assist residents 24 hours a day.
Participants in Residential Services receive nursing and psychological services as needed as well as services that help them identify and achieve their goals that reflect their dreams, wishes, and desires. The concept of person-centered planning guides the Residential Program of Franziska Racker Centers. Our well-maintained residences enhance the lives of participants by affording opportunities for lifelong community involvement in a nurturing environment.
People in the residential program have a wide range of abilities and needs. Residential opportunities are determined by assessing each individual's needs, interests and strengths. Individuals in the program go to school, work in the community, are volunteers, members of faith fellowships and participate in community activities. They celebrate accomplishments, and enjoy the love of their friends and families. They have many gifts to share. (See our homes)
